On Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016 a big rig truck accident shut down the East Loop southbound exit ramp at SH 225. After losing control while taking the ramp, an 18 wheeler carrying tile flipped over on its side. When the driver took the 610 ramp, the tiles shifting and the heavy load caused the truck to overturn. It took until 11:00 a.m. for crews to clean up the big rig truck accident and for drivers to use this part of SH 225 on Tuesday.

Over the last several weeks there have been a number of big rig truck accidents in and around Houston. Fortunately, this accident did not involve any other vehicles and from our understanding, the driver was not severely hurt. There are many instances in which a tractor trailer overturns and dozens of vehicles are involved. The fact that this accident happened early in the morning on Tuesday was the main reason there were no severe injuries.
